Job Title: Safety Coordinator

Job Description

The Safety Coordinator will support two on-site Safety Managers on a large-scale construction project in Texas. This role focuses on maintaining and enhancing the project's safety program by managing documentation, assisting with new hire orientations, maintaining training records, tracking compliance, supporting inspections, and providing comprehensive administrative support. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to promoting a safe work environment for all personnel on site.

Responsibilities

• Support two on-site Safety Managers in the daily administration and coordination of the projects safety program.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain safety documentation, including logs, reports, and records required for the construction project.
• Assist with new hire safety orientations to ensure all personnel understand site-specific safety policies, procedures, and expectations.
• Maintain accurate training records and ensure that safety training is tracked and documented for all workers on site.
• Monitor and track compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and project-specific safety requirements.
• Assist with safety inspections by organizing schedules, compiling findings, and helping to follow up on corrective actions.
• Support construction safety initiatives by promoting safe work practices and reinforcing adherence to safety protocols.
• Provide administrative support to the safety team, including data entry, filing, and preparation of safety-related materials and communications.
• Collaborate with field personnel and site leadership to identify safety concerns and help implement practical solutions.
• Contribute to a safety-focused culture by consistently demonstrating attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk reduction.

Essential Skills

• Experience working in construction safety or a closely related safety coordination role.
• Strong understanding of construction safety principles and practices.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations, including OSHA 30-level safety concepts.
• Ability to assist with and deliver safety training and orientations for construction personnel.
• Proven capability to track and manage safety compliance across a large project site.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple safety documents and records accurately.
• High attention to detail when handling safety documentation, training records, and inspection reports.
• Effective communication skills to interact with safety managers, field teams, and new hires.
• Proficiency in administrative tasks related to safety programs, such as documentation, recordkeeping, and reporting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• BG in roles such as Safety Coordinator, Safety Administrator, Safety Specialist, EHS Coordinator, Construction Safety Assistant, Site Safety Technician, or Field Safety Coordinator.
• Demonstrated interest in and passion for maintaining a safe work environment on construction sites.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a safety team and support multiple safety managers.
• Comfort working in a large-scale, complex construction project environment.
• Adaptability to changing project needs and evolving safety requirements.

Work Environment

This position is based on a large-scale construction project located in a remote area in Texas. The role is fully on-site and involves working closely with field personnel and safety managers in an active construction environment. The Safety Coordinator will spend most of the time in and around construction operations, where conditions can be outdoors, noisy, and fast-paced, with exposure to typical construction site activities and equipment. The work environment requires a consistent focus on safety, adherence to site rules and procedures, and the ability to function effectively in a remote project location.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vernon, TX.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Vernon,TX.
